MarkCalc Ontario helps Ontario secondary students (Grades 9–12) work out their current mark in a course and their Top 6 average. It works completely offline, needs no account, and keeps everything on your device.
Requires iOS 17 or later. Works on iPhone and iPad.
Each category (Term Work, Exam, Culminating Task, Attendance / Learning Skills) is weighted according to the course you pick, and your mark is the weighted total.
Leave a field empty and it's treated as "not yet entered." The app re-weights across only the categories you've filled in and labels the result Projected Mark. Once every visible field is filled it becomes your Final Mark.
They follow Ontario's secondary assessment and evaluation requirements, stored in the app for each subject and grade. You never have to type a weighting in yourself unless you want to.
Some courses have no exam. When a category is worth 0% of your mark, the app hides it instead of showing an empty box. Exam-exempt courses show a Culminating Task field instead.
For Grade 9 Mathematics the EQAO Assessment of Mathematics counts as the written exam, so the app labels that field honestly. Grade 10 Career Studies works the same way — its portion is the financial literacy requirement.
Pick Custom Course at the bottom of the course list. You can then type your own percentage for each category. The weightings need to add up to 100%.
Yes. Marks are saved separately for each course, so you can switch between courses and come back without losing anything, and they're still there next time you open the app. Everything is stored only on your device.
Pull up from the bottom of the calculator screen. To go back, pull down from the Top 6 screen.
The app averages what you've entered and marks it as Partial, showing how many of the six courses are filled in.
Tap the share button in the top-right of the Top 6 screen once you've entered at least one mark. The app makes a shareable card you can send wherever you like.
Yes — the whole app works offline. It never connects to the internet.
Deleting the app from your device removes all of it. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
MarkCalc Ontario is a calculator to help you plan and understand your marks. Results are estimates based on the numbers you enter. Your school's official mark, issued by your teacher and school, is the one that counts. Always check with your teacher if something doesn't look right.
MarkCalc Ontario is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Ministry of Education, EQAO, or any school board.
Effective August 14, 2026
MarkCalc Ontario does not collect any of your information. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. The app never connects to the internet. Everything you type stays on your device.
None. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. We have no servers and no database, and we never receive any data from the app.
The app does not ask for your name, email address, school, or any other identifying information, and it has no sign-up or login.
So the app is useful between visits, it saves the following in its own private storage on your device:
This information never leaves your device. It is not backed up to us, uploaded anywhere, or visible to anyone but you. Deleting the app permanently removes all of it.
MarkCalc Ontario contains no analytics tools, no advertising, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party software development kits of any kind. We do not track you across apps or websites, and there is nothing in the app to opt out of.
The app makes no network requests. Course weightings are built into the app itself, so it works entirely offline and has no way to send information anywhere.
The Top 6 screen can create a shareable image of your average. That image is created on your device, only when you tap the share button, and is handed to Apple's standard iOS share sheet so you can choose where it goes — for example Messages or a photo library.
You decide who receives it. We never see it, and no copy is sent to us.
The app may occasionally ask you to rate it using Apple's standard ratings prompt. This is handled entirely by Apple and the App Store. We receive no personal information from it, and any review you choose to leave is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
MarkCalc Ontario is designed for secondary school students and is safe for all ages. Because the app collects no information from anyone, it collects no information from children either. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no links out to social networks, and no way for users to contact each other.
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You are in full control: the information the app saves lives on your device, and removing the app erases it completely.
If this policy changes — for example if a future version of the app adds a feature that handles information differently — we will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
